After publishing my blog post on how to make bunting a few weeks ago, I received a tweet from a Cardiff based photographers, Sioned A Nia, enquiring about bunting to be placed on their a stand at events and wedding fayres.
Whohoo! My first order via Twitter! So here goes…
Sioned A Nia’s requirements were:
- Pennants in purple fabric
- Name to read out ‘Sioned A Nia’ in white
- Have a camera icon on each end
- Bunting to be ready for the Tafwyl Festival in Cardiff on Saturday 12th July 2014.
This was an unique bunting request – I didn’t think a business would require bunting as a marketing item but I was wrong. I’ve been coming up with bunting ideas and making them as gifts or as a decorative items but not as a marketing banner to be hung in a tent, stand or a trestle table at events and fairs.
Gap in the bunting market? Who knows?
With the requirement for a camera embellishment, I wanted to create something different instead of a flat image like a heart or anchor as I’ve done on previous bunting requests. I based this camera on my dad’s leather and metal cased camera with a little flash in the middle. I attached a little plastic bead as the flash bulb for the camera as the little detail.
Here’s the finished bunting!
So, if you are in Cardiff this Saturday (12th July 2014), why not pop over to Cardiff Castle and discover Cardiff’s Welsh Language festival, Tafwyl, which is organised by Menter Caerdydd. It’s a free event. Also, keep an eye out for Sioned A Nia’s stand at the festival where the bunting will be on display.
Keep an eye out on MB|LD Facebook and Twitter for a photo of the bunting on display in Tafwyl.
